Chapter Two is an autobiographical play.  It focuses on how the author met his second wife and the emotional challenge he faced in trying to emerge from the grief he felt after the loss of his first wife.

Neil Simon's ability to paint vivid characters comically struggling with their angst riddled lives is perfectly showcased in Chapter Two.

It is a play about two men and two women who experience:

New love - Hopelessness - Irony - Lost love - Playfulness
Confusion - Stale love - Desperation - Discovery - Loneliness
Resentment - Silliness - Panic - Renewal

Tom Carder, director, performed on Broadway, off-Broadway, in regional repertory, on television, and in night clubs until 1988, when he moved to Stowe.  Particulary memorable were his Broadway roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat  (Pharoh) and Evita  (Che Guevarra).

Fay Medwick:  Jennie's friend, a little older, a chic suburbanite
